For more than 153 years the national mission has provided guidance and vision to local affiliates through the hallmark programs that are the YWCA. The mission of the YWCA focuses on the purpose of why it exists...to eliminate racism and empower women.

The YWCA of Racine continues to serve disadvantaged women and children through programs at the Empowering Women's Center, Youth Education Programs, and River Bend Nature Center. While the locations have changed...the vision remains the same.

Recognizing the need to downsize in overhead costs by operating from three smaller locations has given the YWCA of Racine a rebirth in programming and more direct service to clients.

Continued support from individuals and businesses in the community through Friends of River Bend and Members of the YWCA, cash and gifts in kind donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, grantors, and special events supporters help the staff and organization to further provide services and for that...we are truly appreciative!
